Japan Nikko Travelogue vol.2

This is a continuation of the Nikko Travelogue vol.1.

4 kinds of Hot Spring

There are 4 kinds of Hot Spring in Hana to Hana.

Resevations are required to use private paths.

The spring qualiy is alkaline hot spring. It is a colorless and transparent, tasteless and odorless, and it is weak in irritation.

The spring quality was kind of thick and it felt really good.

Japanese Style for breakfast

Breakfast is Japanese style and it made with local vegetables.

In particular, the tofu was sweet and delicious.

Since all of staffs were very friendly and helpful, we had good time.

We checked out after breakfast.

Heike no Sato

We checked out around 9:30, and went to the Heike no Sato which is a 15-minutes walk from the inn.

Here, the lifestyle and folk crafts of the Heike at that time are exhibited.

Kitchen utensils and costumes were displayed in it, and you could see how life was at that time.

Move to Senjogahara

After leaving Yunishigawa Onsen, we went to the Senjogahara along the mountain road.

It was sunny and very pleasant on this day.

It is said that the name of Senjogahara is derived from the myth that it was a “battlefield” where the gods of Mt. Nantai and the gods of Mt. Akagi fought over Lake Chuzenji, and it was originally a lake that was turned into a marshland.

The road is made one step higher than the marshland so that people can pass through it, and it is possible to walk through the marshland.

I could hear the occasional chirping of birds, making it a very pleasant hike.

End of Nikko trip

It was my first time to go to Nikko during the autumn season, and I had a lot of fun with a lot of sightseeing.
